Canadian Tuxedo's are somewhat of a lost art.  As double denim is usually frowned upon by trend reports, pairing a lightweight chambray shirt with a pair of dark washed denim adds just enough contrast for the outfit to work.  This BCBG shirt was once a dress but the oversized silhouette was not flattering so I had it hemmed.  I wanted something comfortable yet unique for my daytime stroll around the piers.  Denim and studs inspired the title "In Excess" - I mean go big or go home, eh?xx

wearing: Elizabeth and James blouse, Silence + Noise sweater, Sam Edelman booties

It is so refreshing to see crowded patios and out door tents with DJs flooding the streets of meatpacking.  I wanted to be playful with textures and colors so I opted to pair this metallic sweater over a blush blouse and striped shorts.  Maybe blondes do have more fun...TBD.xx

There is no denying that my favorite thing to wear is is color, but when a blouse drapes like this then there is no turning back.  Worn with distressed denim and mongolian fur to emphasize the femininity of the blouse. Cheers!xx

wearing: Forever 21 jacket, Urban Outfitters T, ASOS ear cuff, Dolce Vita booties, vintage necklace

I wore this to dinner at Virage in East Village Saturday night.  While I have been trying to be healthy I could not pass up the Ricotta Gnochii with Truffle Cream.  Hands down the best pasta in the city.  I've been dressing in theme lately and this was no exception.  However, the tank will be perfect with a girly bikini in the summer to spice things up.  This little ear party is one of my favorite pieces!  Shout out to mom & dad for sending it after it was left behind in the move! LOVE.xx

{weekend packing tips for the compulsive overpackers}

Tip #1:  Purchase one nice weekender bag to force you into limiting yourself.  Trust me..it works.
Actual traveling days: 2 shirts, 1 pair of jeans or tights, comfortable shoes (still stylish i.e. booties, converse) to transition into a day outfit if needed
Daytime: 1 dress, 2 bottoms, 2 tops, 1 pair of flats or wedges
Night: 2 outfits, preferably 1 dress and 1 pant/top combo.  You will more than likely transition a daytime look into night so no need to be excessive. Most importantly, 1 pair of black heels.
Accessories: pack your jewelry and small accessories into a clutch or crossbody bag that you will use through out the weekend, pack that along with sunnies, Bose headphones, phone charger, and Premium Spotify into an oversized handbag and we're DONE.

Overall you will want to walk out of the door with two neatly filled bags organized and folded by outfit so that you will know exactly what you're pulling out to wear once you get to your destination.  Most girls (i.e. me) run into indecisiveness and over thinking when it comes to these things. I wanted to implement a process to help eliminate that for both our sake. LOVE!xx

wearing: Alythea top, Urban Outfitters pants, Vintage leather jacket, Jessica Simpson shoes

I know I keep saying it but seriously the weather is beautiful today in NYC.  I have had this leather jacket for years now but haven't had the right outfit to wear it with.  As we all know cropped jackets are tough but it works if you pair it with complimentary silhouettes.  This blouse is just the right fit.  It's not too tight and not too oversized.  The hi-low hem accentuates both the cropped jacket and the high waist pant.  Currently obsessed with blue nails and this shade of "Butler, Please" by Essie is doing just the trick.xx
